Help on bee wings is a program of support of beekeepers in wartime for restoration of lost apiaries and provision of humanitarian assistance to women and children of beekeepers in temporary shelter in safe areas of Ukraine.

Who We Are

The NGO "Brotherhood of Ukrainian Beekeepers" defends the interests of Ukrainian beekeeping in general and each beekeeper in particular at all levels.

The organization has been conducting international activities since 2005, participating in International Beekeeping Congresses, conferences, symposiums, held in different countries, on different continents. The organization has received more than 50 international awards in the UK, Australia, France, etc. The organization is a full member of the International Federation of Beekeepers' Associations Apimondia and the European Federation of Beekeeping Associations Apislavia and the European Beekeeping Association.

In September-October 2013, the Organization held the largest XXXXIII International Congress of Apimondia in Kyiv, having accepted more than 9,000 delegates from 115 countries on five continents.

The organization develops and implements the program: "Help on Bee Wings" - assistance to disabled veterans in labour rehabilitation and adaptation to peaceful life in peacetime (post-war period), "Plant honey grove" – measures to plant honey crops, "Protect bees from pesticide poisoning" – joint task with the farmers on effective communications for bees preservation, "Beekeeper is a producer and exporter" – development of small and medium-sized beekeeping enterprises, etc.

ABOUT PROJECT

The NGO "Brotherhood of Ukrainian Beekeepers" initiates and Charitable organization “Charitable foundation “Help on Bee Wings” implements the "Help on Bee Wings" Program, designed to support and help Ukrainian beekeepers during the war.

The "Help on Bee Wings" Program in peacetime provides for support and rehabilitation of disabled veterans, mastering by veterans the profession of a beekeeper, adaptation to working conditions in the apiary in accordance with special physical capabilities of the veteran.

During the war, we focus all efforts of the organization on implementation of the extended "Help on Bee Wings" Program:

We help beekeepers to restore beekeeping farms, apiaries that were destroyed or lost due to the war. We monitor and collect information on beekeeping farms, apiaries that were destroyed, ruined or left without supervision during the war. We process the collected information and verify it. We determine the scope of the destruction of beekeeping farms, apiaries and the scope of assistance needed for the partial restoration and promoting further reconstruction of beekeeping farms and apiaries. This work is being done right now and will be done constantly during wartime and military aggression. This work is of a high priority.

We help the families of beekeepers - women, children and elderly parents who are forced to leave their homes and temporarily move to safer areas of Ukraine. We provide information, coordinate the resettlement process, and, if necessary, ensure that family members receive humanitarian aid. This work is being done right now and will continue for as long as there is a need. This is a high-priority work.

We help beekeepers who became soldiers to find the necessary protective clothing (equipment) and first aid kits. We turn to charitable foundations with these questions so that they can buy protective clothing (equipment) and first aid kits at their own expense and give them to us for beekeepers - soldiers. This work is carried out at the individual request of the beekeepers, when they say us what exactly they need for protection of their lives. This work is not systematic and massive, is individual for each beekeeper at his request.

PRIORITY WORK

Help and assistance to beekeepers in restoration of beekeeping farms, apiaries destroyed or lost due to the war. Assistance to beekeepers' families – women, children, elderly parents in temporary resettlement and humanitarian support.
